Why I love sports and games...
This wkend's been quite quiet for me...din go out at all (at least can save up some money haha)...
Today my father's relatives came over to our house for a gathering...den played mahjong with some of them...quite fun lar haha...
I really like playing sports and games (esp card games like bridge, daidee, spades etc. and mahjong) haha..i juz find it really interesting and fun to play that i dun tink i will ever feel bored as long as there are like-minded ppl out there who also enjoy having a game or two...lol..somehow i really enjoy having fun playing sports or card games so much that it's a form of entertainment that has formed an integral part of my life...i still rmb learning how to play mahjong when i was really young by watching my parents or grandma play..i was quite attracted to how the game worked and so slowly picked it up...from then on, i would play whenever there was a chance to (like when the real players went for dinner and the table was empty, me and my sisters or other ppl would juz go and play a few rounds for fun...haha) even though my parents weren't really that supportive of it, presumably becos they din wan me to sort of play until the extent where i would start gambling and den all the negative stuff comes in...
den at the same time, i also started playing with cards.. i still rmb it started with like a memory game where all cards are laid face down den each player takes turns to try to get matching pairs...haha as i grew up i learnt more card games...and den the number of card games juz seem unlimited..it was really fascinating for me to really grasp the knowledge on how to play the different games...and after learning the basics, it was then slowly playing a certain style or applying diff strategies according to the situation..and all this juz meant more fun and excitement to go along with...also the kind of bonding that one can forge with others thru engaging in card games is hardly felt elsewhere...as you play, you communicate with others and den from there, u talk abt diff stuff, get to know one another better...some sort of like an icebreaker...
as for sports, i rmb playing a lot of soccer in pri sch, a lot of basketball in sec sch, a lot of wushu in sec sch and jc and basically enjoying most of it...for example, the teamwork and cadamaderie within the chs and vjc wushu teams was juz something that i admired and enjoyed a lot...also not forgetting the after-sch sessions of basketball and soccer which provided exercise and fun together....it's not so much abt winning but rather abt playing well and encouraging one another...
In a way, sports and card games are almoz similar in that they provide entertainment and help ppl forge closer ties with one another...and while one works the body, the other works the mind...
So much for an all-rounded education that ppl have always been pursuing/asking others to pursue...why dun we juz scrap the education system and instead learn how to play sports and games? haha =P...
