Taipei Day 1
So i touched down last night at changi airport after a really wonderful and enjoyable 5 days 4 nites at taipei, taiwan...and i shall be blogging abt my whole journey in a few parts here..haha
The story of 7 dudes whom on their ord trip, go to taiwan, a place where none of them has been to before...
1st Day:
Boarded Jetstar flight 3K521 from Singapore to Taiwan at 1 pm and reached Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan at 640 pm... (there's no time diff at all between both countries)
Den a coach brought us from the airport to our hotel, Kilin Hotel, located near the Xi Men Ding area...on board the coach there was a tour guide by the surname of Liang who was to be our tour guide for the 2nd day city tour too...haha..he introed us to Taiwan and her people, cultures and other interesting stuff...
Interesting tidbit 1: Ppl drive on the left hand sides of their vehicles in Taiwan unlike Singapore...
Upon reaching Kilin Hotel, the first thing we noticed was the 7-11 juz beside the hotel...very convenient.. den we checked into the hotel and went to our rooms...be4 we went to taiwan, i read some online reviews that Kilin Hotel wasn't gd and a few even criticised it badly..budden it was much better than what i personally expected..heard that they underwent a renovation juz recently and i tink it was worth our money staying at Kilin thruout the whole trip..
Proceeded to Xi Men Ding (XMD) after washing up...and had beef noodles for dinner at a small restaurant discovered while on the way to XMD...the soup base was really delicious while the beef slices were thick and tender...
XMD is made up of shopping centres, shophouses by the street lanes and small stalls selling various things like food, clothes, accessories etc...drank a super big cup bubble tea and tried a doughnut from Mr. Donut...it tastes diff from those from donut factory..it's crunchier and harder, not soft at all...den walked around a little longer and took in the sights of ppl shopping in taiwan be4 we headed back to our hotel to slp...

Interesting tidbit 2: Taiwan's bubble tea shops all serve it in big cups and the amount of pearls they give is almoz double that of what singapore bubble tea shops give...
End of Day 1...

Light at the end of the tunnel
My sister's doing maths beside me now..haha..preparing for her a lvls sia..when i see her studying, it reminds me of my old days spent doing the same thing...practising papers, memorizing facts and concepts etc..haha..tat's something that i din have to do in ns (or at least not to such great an extent)..juz wanna wish her and my juniors like zhe and kb all the best for their As...after it's over can really go enjoy and celebrate loh...
As for me, i will also enjoy and celebrate when i ord..haha...so near yet so far...but i muz say time has passed really fast during this period of time...how to celebrate leh? so far i am tinking
a) big buffet (one really expensive meal which i haven gone for be4)
b) mambo/clubbing (which i haven tried b4 but heard it's really fun...maybe i wun even wait for ord be4 i go there lol =P)
c) go on holiday (acty i'm already flying to taiwan nxt wk for holiday..haha..so this one not so high on my list unless it's with family?)
d) shopping (go get stuff like a new handphone, clothes etc..)
and of coz i'll be moving house at the end of the year too...haha..also not forgetting the project i'm involved in and perhaps trying to find a job like relief teaching and/or tuition or in other areas which i might be interested (anyone got lobang can recommend me pls thx haha).. and also yr-end gatherings and chalets...christmas, counting down to new year 2008 etc..seems to be a very exciting and packed november and december for me..haha..
back to the present though, my leg seemed better last wk and den i went back to chs to play bball with the wushu peeps...really long nvr go back le but the walk thru the pathway and down the stairs to the bball court still felt the same as last time (din go check out other areas which might have had drastic changes though)...and of coz the bball was fun(sports are always fun) but i ended up making my seemingly fully-recovered leg sore again...and it felt quite bad while we were making our way to prince for lunch...well despite the pain, i enjoyed myself thoroughly while at the same time recalling the gd times we used to have together in chs...regardless of whether they were comical, stupid, serious..they were mostly fun..
Now as i am blogging, my leg seems to have recovered fully (AGAIN?) although i dunno if the pain will come back (AGAIN!)...hope it doesn't if not go taiwan nxt wk in an injured state also damn sian..haha..cannot imagine myself limping thru shilin night market...
Sizzler's quite gd a restaurant to go for a meal together with some frens...the food's quite alright and there's an all-u-can-eat salad bar there with soups/salad/fruits etc..for a big eater like me of coz it was great...hahaha..can take ur time to eat while talking to ur frens too...
Katharine McPhee's song "Love Story" is a catchy, upbeat tune that i like..haha..everyone's got their own love story to tell...it's only a matter of time when they do it...lol..

Future
Went to the gym on thurs evening and the next morning i woke up with a strain on my left leg..dunno if i pulled a muscle accidentally or wat but there's some kind of slight niggling pain whenever i bend my leg to walk up/down the stairs and it's not very pleasant after all...haha...hope it can recover by itself without me having to see a doctor or chinese physician for something small like this...
And i juz signed up for facebook...hehe...for wat? actually i'm not sure too...maybe juz to get into the craze that everyone's been talking/surfing around recently and check the whole thing out to see if i like it...i still rmb signing up for frenster a few yrs ago and den after a while ignoring the whole website altogether until i either got fren requests or juz had an urge to go update my profile there and look at how my frens are doing...haha...facebook similarly may suffer the same fate as frenster if i happen to get bored of it soon...
Juz signed up to be a volunteer for ben's project...mainly for the experience bah i shld say since i have nvr really been involved in such stuff be4 (cip doesn't really count)...and perhaps from the whole thing i could learn much more stuff and have much more fun and make many more frens which of coz would be added on bonuses...will be talking more abt this in the future...
Haha time for some upcoming outdoor activities like kayaking and (learning) cycling as suggested by jo...can keep fit and have fun together...i like kayaking becos of the whole experience of being out in the water and paddling the kayak...physically demanding too but it's really fun esp with a group of frens (anyway i have nvr heard of ppl kayaking alone except for those adventurers who go on solo expeditions haha)...as for cycling, dunno how to cycle, dun really bother to learn, maybe i really need to take the first step in wanting to learn after all..haha...and altho i hear night cycling's really fun, i am not really comfortable with that idea after all...lol maybe i'm tinking too far ahead when i haven even learnt cycling yet...
A few more holidays like hari raya and deepavali coming up also means a few more non-working days to the end of my ns life and den beckons the start of something new...what do i wan to do after i ord? i tink i will answer that next time...

Wishes
So i certainly hope that the storm has calmed and altho everything could almost impossibly nvr be the same again, there should still be some improvement to the whole issue as compared to previously...no one wans to see the calm before a storm anyway...
Taking the first step towards having a driving licence, i am going for basic theory test tmr..and of coz i wun wanna fail it..juz hope i dun fumble and can answer all the qns confidently =D
Despite my repeated pleas/warnings not to do it, my dear fren with whom i have a love/hate relationship with (haha =D) has to go against my wish and read my blog "there" when i initially stated clearly it was not to be done...and as he told me that my blog needs more updates, all i can say to him is "some things cannot be expressed in blogs that easily"...i could probably blog more if i weren't afraid of blurting out stuff which others might take offence with or have some sensitive value to them that openly discussing them would be equal to exposing the privacy and secrets of others...tat's not wat a blog is for in the first place anyway unless u are a gossip king/queen and couldn't care less abt the ppl around u..
