A jam-packed day filled with so many different activities...
Went back to tchs to play bball with the wushu peeps...haha we are organising more of these bball sessions nowadays tat hopefully it'll be a wkly activity for us all soon once we can let go of whatever commitments we have...it's fun and gd exercise too..haha..
Had to rush home to bathe and change before setting out to city hall again to meet ben nigo alphon and rj for lunch (was damn late for the lunch meeting..haha..so much for wanting to do so many things when i knew i din have lots of time..)
Attended the SMU Nsmen Jamboree after tat...it started late due to ppl coming in later than the stipulated timing(somewhat expected)...saw a lot of familiar faces from tchs, vjc and army(also quite expected)...and den there were performances by a female dance group as well as 2 couples dancing salsa be4 a brief intro by the president and deans of the different schools of SMU...followed by samba masala's beating and banging of drums performance item and ended with a breakout into the different schools..i went with nigo and ben to the accountancy one (not wanting to be left alone on the business side...haha)
I felt tat the accountancy talk given by the dean was a little redundant in the sense tat she spoke mainly abt points which we already heard of and understood quite well...at least listening to 2 alumni speak of their experiences in SMU after that was much more interesting and engaging...
Overall, i tink the smu jamboree was quite informative in tat i managed to learn more stuff related to the school...knowing tat this jamboree would be an (almoz) all-guys affair, the school also had lots of visual attractions for us in terms of the female emcee, dancing girl group, seniors etc(call it mei3 ren2 ji4)...haha ben said it's a farce..to me, it's a welcome sight HAHAHA =D...i mean it's normal for them to "use" the gers to perhaps attract the guys to matriculate early (very scheming indeed as one of my frens said...) but in the end, the gers will not be the reason why guys go to smu(maybe for some, tat really is the main reason but if i knew someone liddat, i probably wouldn't know wat to say to him)...
The bottomline is: I din matriculate early yesterday...haha...(becos i feel cheated lol)
Reached home club around 4.30 for the pre-launch party for the dustbin-painting competition which i am volunteering in...got assigned to be at the front desk near the entrance where i was supposed to be in charge of registering the guests and participants who came as well as giving out drink coupons and answering any queries to the best of my ability...and contrary to popular belief, i acty tot tat my job was quite fun and i acty liked doing it mainly becos:
1) i could see the pretty gers walking in and out of the club
2) i could talk to the pretty doorgirl who was sitting near me
3) i like interacting with ppl so in a way, i got to talk to almoz everyone who entered the club and stopped by my table
4) it was my first time doing such a job so it was a new experience for me altogether
and this sort of reinforces my ambition of perhaps working in the service industry nxt time...
of coz there were some drawbacks like being unable to go find my frens who came and talk to them..altho some of them like glen jo and jy did come down to the table and find me instead..haha..and also suffering a little from hunger pangs...but anyway thanks to all who came down lar...great to see u all again (esp some of the ord-ed personnel)
went to macs for dinner/supper after the event ended before me and 6 other 163 dudes went to mos to chill/drink/dance/enjoy ourselves till the cows came home...lol...1st time at mos...entirely different experience from indochine previously...one's a pub the other's a club so obviously it was gonna be different...there's like 3 different areas playing trance, r & b and retro respectively so basically we juz shifted thru all the 3 areas periodically...wat i can say abt clubbing is tat it's something tat frens together can enjoy and have fun once in a while but not to the extent of going so often and spending lots of money there...at least not for me...
altho if u asked me to club one year ago, i probably would have rejected u flatly and said that clubbing is not for me...haha..a true example of how our perceptions of some things change as we grow up...lol
