Haha...it's been a very long past wk for me...in a way i've been really busy but it's been fun too...with some unexpected rewards as well..hopefully things will turn out really great in future...
First up was my birthday on Tuesday..haha went out for lunch with family before going great world city to walk walk..haha...managed to try the uzumaki ice cream for the 1st time..the milk tea with pearls icecream was not bad...a little too sweet for me but the pearls were crunchy and nice..haha..after tat went with my younger sis to driving sch in yck..she go register for basic theory while i juz go there clarify some things..after tat met nigel after his lesson ended and went to amk with him..looking at phones and eating some snacks haha...
Den at night went out with joseph, jiayong, yihong and eugene to orchard supposedly for a birthday dinner...haha...as i stated in my earlier post, they gave me a wallet as a present (which made me really happy and touched)..and now i'm using that new wallet...haha..
On wed, went for a dimsum lunch with family at rtc..haha..delicious dim sum which i haven eaten for quite some time...den go with clarence and nigo to recruit express in orchard to sign up with them...perhaps they could find a gd job for me if i can't find one myself...haha..after tat went to national library to read bks with clarence be4 going to miss clarity cafe for bravo ord outing dunno round 3,4 or 5 already..haha..nice food there...surprisingly saw sarah there too..haha she juz came back from australia...hopefully can meet up soon bah..
On thurs i went to national dental centre to remove my stitches following my previous wisdom tooth extraction and den at the same time bked my nxt appointment to take out the other 2..turns out that there was actually a slot for me to remove them on friday and so i juz accepted tat..
Juz before lunchtime on fri, me clarence and nigo went to kelly services in international plaza (haha we are really taking all chances we have to find a job after we ord...) be4 i went to take out my other 2 wisdom teeth... and i've been feeling quite gd thus far(no complications, numbness or pain... woohoo haha) except for a little lethargy when i reached home after the extraction...
Haha during the wkend i was completely involved in the dustbin painting competition by creativehome held at scape there...as a facilitator, my role was to take care of a group of participants...haha played some icebreakers and experential games be4 i could see them slowly bonding together altho that were some exceptions..overall still quite heartening to see them being able to talk and laugh together despite not knowing each other prior to them being split up into my group...den there were some talks and a forum which i felt was boring..haha..so went to talk cock with the other facis be4 heading down to ubi collect plaques den return to scape(go by taxi so relac lah..haha)
Den the participants started painting on small dustbins as test trial for sunday's real thing..moz of the designs were really beautiful..haha..all the artists putting their talents and skills to work by coming up with their own fascinating pictures...the onli grouse of the event was tat there were quite a few bands playing damn loud music which perhaps they could appreciate but to us folks and artists who juz wanted some peace and quiet so tat they could paint better, it was quite a horrible experience...could almoz imagine myself going deaf if i were actually sitting juz directly in front of them near the stage area...had a poverty dinner experience for the first time at nite...ate plain porridge while others were having noodles haha..sadded..but quite funny when we saw each other actually downing the bowls of porridge together..
Fast forward to the nxt day when the competition was to officially start...i reached scape a little later than 9 and already could see some participants starting on their dustbins..basecoding den drawing their designs on the bins followed by painting...haha...the overall turnout for the event wasn't really good...and there were the bands playing really loud music again (including paul twohill who came to sing altho me and some others juz cannot appreciate him haha sorry)...haha stayed till almoz the end when the last band had finished and helped to pack up together with crispin (my new saikang buddy) haha until around 8 pm...
Today's monday and i went back to scape for the third consecutive day for no particular reason..juz to look see look see...there weren't many ppl there painting...some bins were already completed and they looked really fabulous...looking forward to seeing them placed around orchard in the future...haha..
This blog entry has been a really long one as i depict my experiences the past one wk so i am ending off with this last paragraph haha...thruout the dustbin painting event, i feel tat i have gotten alot..learning how certain things work, acquiring new skills, meeting different ppl, making new frens and ultimately, juz having fun...of coz there have been moments when i'm really busy and doing lots of saikang and it's really sian (doesn't this happen everywhere lol) but the experience isn't tat bad for me to say tat i wun wanna do something liddat ever again..haha..and to juz tink of the frens i have made thru this project: peiyi jiankai albert jocelyn simin yinghui crispin sheila kumaran etc etc and the bunch of hc juniors which i so coincidentally work with in this project etc...as well as not forgetting ben who brought me into this project...haha a bunch of new frens tat hopefully wun lose contact after the event's over...besides tat, it's been pleasant juz helping out in an event like this (i am a good volunteer hahaha) and seeing artists really paint beautiful works of art...
